TTP's Role

     TTP's role

The Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), led by Noor Wali Mehsud, aims to overthrow Pakistan’s government and establish a strict Islamic rule based on Sharia law. The group has been involved in numerous attacks on Pakistani security forces and civilians, causing instability and fear across the region. Pakistan and Afghanistan have engaged in several rounds of talks mediated by Qatar and Turkey, but these efforts have remained unsuccessful, with both sides blaming each other for the failure. Afghanistan insists that the TTP is a Pakistani issue, while Pakistan believes cross-border sanctuaries are the main cause of continued violence.

The conflict has serious implications for regional stability and global security. In recent clashes between Pakistan and Afghanistan, over 100 people, including 25 Pakistani soldiers, have lost their lives. Both countries must work together toward de-escalation and focus on addressing the root causes of this conflict to achieve lasting peace.
