The Impact of Social Media on Mental Health
Social media has become an integral part of our lives, but its impact on mental health cannot be ignored. Excessive use of social media can lead to sleep deprivation, social isolation, anxiety, and decreased face-to-face interaction. It also affects concentration and emotional well-being, especially among students.
Parents, educators, and policymakers should recognize the harm caused by the overuse of social media. Parents must take responsibility by setting limits and guiding their children toward healthier online habits. Students’ mental and physical health can be badly affected if they spend too much time on these platforms instead of studying or engaging in real-life activities.
Social media should be used wisely and in moderation so that it benefits rather than harms individuals and society.
