Significant challenge in Pakistan

Poverty is spreading in Pakistan with an estimated 24.3% of the population living below the poverty line. Poverty is particularly acute in rural areas, where the majority of the population lives, and where access to basic services such as education, healthcare, and clean water is often limited. Poverty in Pakistan is caused by a range of factors including natural disasters and lack of access to education and job opportunities.

Addressing poverty in Pakistan will require a comprehensive approach that includes measures to promote economic growth improve access to education, healthcare and strengthen social safety nets to protect the most members of society.
