Major Issues of Balochistan

Balochistan, the biggest province of Pakistan, is rich in minerals and natural resources but is the most backward province of Pakistan. It is facing serious socio-economic problems along with and deprived of fundamental needs of life, be it education, health and electricity infrastructure of roads, and many more. I just want to highlight some of the issues which are hard nuts to be cracked.

Health is the very fundamental need of every individual but unfortunately, we lack a functional and well-equipped hospital. Leave others the basic treatments of common diseases are not available because of the unavailability of facilities. Malaria, typhoid, hepatitis, and gastrointestinal and respiratory disorders are common in the province but one cannot get proper cures for them. These diseases can be prevented by facilitating the population with proper sewerage and sanitation disposal systems. In rural areas, the health status is relatively poor. Balochistan's natives are not getting proper health.

In the same way, Education is the base of every nation. It's heart-wrenching to mention that Balochistan's literacy rate is 37%, which is much below that of the other three provinces of Pakistan, as well as its national average of 53%. The women in Balochistan have no access to education, due to a lack of resources and schools.

It's an undeniable fact that Poverty is a prevalent issue in Balochistan. More than 60% of people in Balochistan live below the line poverty. It is the poorest province not only in Pakistan but in complete south Asia. Due to which this people cannot afford the basic necessities of life.

Loadsheding is dime a dozen in Balochistan, especially in Makuran division which is the second most populated division of Balochistan that is badly suffering from load shedding. The schedule of electricity is quite deplorable and citizens are subject to a shortage of electricity and due to which businesses and households are suffering severely.

Thus, the concerned authorities and the Government of Balochistan must take serious notice to ensure the basic necessities of people in the province.
