Cyber Crime

  Cybercrime is a criminal activity that either targets or uses a
computer, a computer network, or a networked device, like, hacking, shutting
down, or misusing websites or computer networks; spreading hate and inciting
terrorism, distributing child pornography, grooming, making sexual advances to
minors. Similarly, cybercrime has been increased through social media. Between
2018-2021 financial fraud through social media increased by 83% of 102,365
complaints received in 2023, 23% of cybercrimes used Facebook. 

   Ways to control
cybercrimes, 1) Encrypt your data and create backups, 2) Keep your systems and
software updated, 3) Use strong passwords, 4) Reduce your attack surface, 5)
Pay close attention to physical security. Ultimately, the government should
focus on addressing these cyber security threats. By implementing defenses
against the leading cyber-attack.
