Corruption in Pakistan is prevalent and extends to every sector from the government to the judiciary, police, health services, and education. The problems are long-standing, and despite ongoing calls for reform, and many attempts to improve the situation, there is little evidence of progress in other words, corruption is an issue that affects the economy of central, state, and local government agencies in many ways. Pakistan is considered one of the most corrupt countries in the globe to add, due to corruption we are facing thousands of problems.
Besides this, corruption has spoiled Pakistan completely and is resulting in an increase in poverty, unemployment, and hunger, and is tarnishing the image of the country by bringing immense misery to its people. Corruption has been deeply routed in all levels either private or government from top to bottom and anti-corruption institutions have unfavorably failed to address this or even reduce the ongoing dishonesty and fraud. There are many top politicians who have been reportedly involved in this misconduct that are concerned with their stakes only without thinking about the public.
Concern research shows Pakistan was included amongst the list of ten countries that have “significantly declined” in the Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) for 2022, hitting the lowest score since 2012, revealed a report by Transparency International (TI). The CPI is an index published annually by TI that ranks countries "by their perceived levels of public sector corruption, as determined by expert assessments and opinion surveys."
In 2018, Pakistan ranked 117 out of 180 on the CPI, but over the years, it has slipped to reach 140 in 2021. This growing corruption has hit Pakistan very much. This hiking corruption has given birth to uncontrollable issues including inflation, poverty, illiteracy, unemployment, suicides, and some others. Due to this, many are suffering from this mess.
Finally, it is my pleading to the government not to be corrupt like this otherwise we should be ready for seeing the worst circumstances.
