Princess, Book Review

The book Princess which is written by Jean P. Sasson is one of the most knowledgeable books. What do you imagine when you heard about the princess of Saudi Arabia? Whenever we hear the name of the princess of Saudi Arabia, we imagine a very beautiful picture in our mind that they were living a luxurious life. They lived a life full of happiness and enjoy life but when I went for reading this book, I came to know that they lived a worse life than us.

The females of Saudi Arabia were bounded. They were not let to go outside even though they were not allowed to show their faces to any man except their relatives. The worst habit in them which I hate the most was that they made their daughters marry at a small age and they gave them such husbands who seemed to be their fathers. The purpose of my uttering these words was that they married their daughters to old men. For example, when a girl was 14, she was given to a man who was 56 or 60 years old.  As a character in this book, Sara who was a 16 years old girl was married to a 62-year-old man.  And a man in Saudi Arabia was allowed to marry as many women as he wanted. This is what makes society go towards ignorance.

We must ponder a little that if Allah The Almighty has given equal rights to both, males and females so who are we to make one superior or more powerful? Both males and females are the blessings of Allah and both works for human development. The males and females both carry on the human generation.

So we people must get lessons from this book and we should not follow such traditions which the people of Saudi Arabia were following because it only brings destruction, not prosperity.
